How to add a field to your database to collect the UID from a Mifare card

To Add a field to your database to collect the UID from a  Mifare card please follow these instructions.

 

1. When in you database click the menu button in the top left of the EasyBadge Program window.  cid:image001.jpg@01D2B201.1051BF70

 

2. Click Add Field.

4. Select “Text Field” and click the “create” button.

 

 

5. Name field as ‘Mifare UID’ and Click ‘OK’.

 

 

6. Your Database will need to close and re-open, click ‘OK’.

7. Click the menu button in the top left of the EasyBadge Program window.  cid:image001.jpg@01D2B201.1051BF70

 

8. Click Modify Database > Manage Card Designs.

 

 

9.  Now click the name of the design that will be printed when the Mifare function is performed, then click the pencil icon to edit the properties of that design 

 

 

10.  Now type the name of the field you created ( eg Mifare UID) into the ‘MifareField’ line.

 

 

 

 

11. At this point you may want to consider the format the UID is read back in. It can be  Hex, Decimal, or Hex in reverse order or Decimal in Reverse Order. This will be specific to your own requirements.

 

To configure these use the drop-down for “Convert Id to Decimal” (set to True of False) and “Reverse Order Id” Set to true or false.

 

12. Finally check that the contactless encoder (CL = contactless)  is selected in the Printing menu under settings from the main menu button. (On the IDP Smart 70 the Duali encoder will not appear here.)

 

 

 

You should not be ready to print cards and the Mifare UID will be collected and entered into the database field that was added.
