Running the Firmware Update for new Datacard regionalised supplies

Datacard have released new regionalised supplies, the product code for a regionalised Ribbon in the UK ends -R010 (e.g. a YMCKT ribbon is 534700-001-R010)

 

Printers with the below serial number already have the regionalisation built in to the printers firmware. (The Serial (SN) number of your printer can be found on a white barcoded label on the left side of the print head when the lid is open.)

 

SD260    -SN = L14289 and higher  (D2 Boards)

SD260L  - SN = D16445 and higher (D3 Boards)

SD360    - SN =  B31813 and higher 

SD460    - SN =  J11557 and higher

 

Once the printer is Regionalised it will display R010 on the right  of the front panel LCD screen.

 

If you use a ribbon from outside your region you will get error 224. You resolve this issue by using a ribbon that is compatible with your own region.

 

If your printer has firmware from before the firmware listed above you will need to update your printer to use the new Datacard regionalised supplies

 

Please follow these instructions to get your printer up to date.

 

1. Open a web browser and go to www.datacard.com

 

 

2.  On the menu select drivers and downloads.

 

 

3. Enter the name of your printer as show on the front of the printer you have and click go.

 

 

4.  Select “Drivers and downloads” when your printer appears..

 

 

5.  Click the firmware header and then Click “Begin your InFocus firmware upgrade now”.

 

5. Fill out the InFocus form with your own details.

 

7. From this page you can then access the firmware updater by clicking the “Download Now” button.
