Mifare card Re-Encoding

Modified on Tue, 15 Dec, 2020 at 11:03 AM

  1. An access key that has write permission - you can do nothing to a card with out this. You need this even with blank cards
  2. The card hasn't been locked against modification. Mifare has two keys: A and B. When you write a trailing sector with new keys you specify which keys can do which action. One of the options is to lock against modification. If that is done the keys cannot be changed again. In EasyBadge you do this with the access bits section:

Presumably they know the Key A and B (otherwise they are getting nowhere). To tell if the keys have been locked they will need to do a card read.

>Also with DESFire currently we cannot read from the card the write back?
