Evolis Avansia – Printed Image Shows Scratches or Cracks

Fault
Cards printed on the Evolis Avansia may show lines where the image appears cracked, split, or scratched across the surface.

Cause
This issue is linked to printhead heat management between the YMC and K panels. In firmware version 5.5 and above, a new feature ensures the printhead cools sufficiently before printing the K panel. Incorrect black density or wrinkle settings can also contribute.

Fix
Adjust the printer as follows:

• User Mode → Image Setup → BK Sub-Heat Adj.

  • Set BK Sub to -40 (basic value adjustment; reduces black density).

• User Mode → Adjustment → Wrinkle → Adjust Wrinkle

  • Increase Wrinkles to +7 / +8 (tune per printer to balance retransfer energy).
