If your ID card are fading prematurely the first thing to do would be to increase the overlay power in the printer driver.
1. Go to Devices and printers in Windows.
2. Right Click the Rio Pro driver and select printer preferences.
3. Click “image” on the left hand column. (see below)
4. Click Options.
5. Increase “overcoat” to 60.
This should add more power to the overlay when it is printed.
The sample card you sent a scan of does have the overlay but it also looks like physical wear and tear might have caused the overlay to have become worn prematurely.
The overlay panel is only designed to protect against UV light with minimal physical protection.
