HDP6600 Omnikey 5127CK Firmware upgrade + Testing Smart card

Modified on Thu, 13 May, 2021 at 12:31 PM

If a HID Mifare diagnostic card won't read using the HDP6600 Driver Smart card test. Close the driver and open the Omnikey Workbench 2.2 (details below) and use the card diagnostic test. If the details flash on and off the encoder is polling and won't connect long enough to perform tasks.

If that's the case, follow the steps below.

To update the Omnikey 5127Ck Mini to enable Desfire EV2 encoding please follow the steps below.

Install the Omnikey Workbench v2.2, which can be downloaded here - https://www.hidglobal.com/drivers/37339

To update the encoder firmware to Sp2.2 you will need the file attached and the Omnikey Workbench.

Open Omnikey Workbench 2.2, select the Readers option, click on your encoder shown in the available readers list.

Scroll across the heading list and select Reader Upload. Click the Load File button and browse to the firmware file and click Open.

To start the process select the Upload button.

To apply the config file open the encoder, System Config page and use the Upload Config option to apply the attached file. Screenshot of page also attached.

Then Apply changes, restart the PC and the printer and both the Omnikey Workbench polling issue and the HDP6600 Desfire encoder issue should be resolved.

If the problem is not resolved, ensure you install the latest Omnikey CCID driver v2.2.2.114 found here - https://www.hidglobal.com/drivers/32909
