Flawed Magicard Driver 2.7.0.566

Modified on Thu, 20 Jan, 2022 at 3:06 PM

The new magicard driver on Windows update  V2.7.0.566 is flawed.

We’ve had numerous reports of similar symptoms you mention across all products and have been working through them on case by case basis.

The update was promptly removed from the Microsoft site.

However, of course this doesn’t help the many users who’ve had the issue already.

The workaround to re-align everything is as follows:

  1. Delete printer instance
  2. Switch off printer
  3. Restart Windows (important)
  4. Switch on printer
  5. Access Control Panel -> Devices & Printers
  6. Right click on the new Printer thumbnail
  7. Choose Printing Preferences
  8. Acknowledge any End User Licence Agreement
  9. Confirm under “Printer Status” it shows “Connected”.
  10. Now you can print again.
