Modified on Thu, 23 Jun 2022 at 03:11 PM

To remedy the 'peeling' effect of from a HDP5000, please follow the below steps.

1. Navigate to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > right click on the HDP5000 > click Printing preferences.

2. This will display the below. Please select the card type you are using to print on, if you are unsure then please let me know and I will help find out.

Please try another print, if this has completely fixed the effect on the cards you can skip the rest.

After this, go to Image Transfer.

3. Increase the dwell time by 0.5 seconds, try a test print and if this has not resolved it, continue adding 0.5 seconds until it reaches its maximum.

If the maximum dwell time has been reached, increase the transfer temperate in steps of 1 degree. Again, you can do this up to the maximum temperature.

If the issue persists after these steps, please proceed to the below.

1. Reduce the image darkness more negative (-) Adjust in increments of -5.

In Windows browse Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Right click HDP5000 driver and select Printing Preferences > Image Color tab > Lower Dye-Sub intensity.

In Windows browse Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Right click HDP5000 driver and select Printing Preferences > Device Options Tab > Toolbox button > Advanced settings.

Try printing 3-5 cards to see if there has been an improvement, if not, move onto step 2.

  2. Adjust the Ribbon Supply Tension by +/-5 in the Advanced Settings of Toolbox in the Printing Preferences.

Again, you may need to print 3-5 or so cards before you see an improvement.
