Zebra ZC300 printer network Installation Guide

Modified on Fri, 05 Jan 2024 at 12:04 PM

Task 1: Install the latest driver on the printer

Got Zebra website and download the latest version of the driver:

https://www.zebra.com/us/en/support-downloads/printers/card/zc300.html

Install the USB driver and optionally install the latest firmware as needed. Once installed, go to Printing Preferences and select Advanced Settings.

Under Connectivity choose Wired Network, then enter the appropriate information as shown:

Assuming a static IP is used (which is typical for a network printer installation), key in the following info:

  • IP Address
  • Subnet Address
  • Gateway
  • DNS Server Address (if you don’t know you may run nslookup on a Windows command prompt to find out)
  • Printer DNS Name (just a name it may register on the DNS server)

Note: The DNS Server Address is mandatory for ZC300 network installation. Also, make sure SNMP is turned on to allow the discovery of the printer over the network.

Task 3: Verify network connection and perform test prints

To verify the printer has been connected and can print correctly, perform the following tasks:

  1. Ping the registered IP address of the printer. If the printer responds to the ping command correctly, it verifies that the connection is good (see below figure):

  1. Check the printer status by looking at the top of the driver page in Printer Preferences, it should show the printer is in an idle state.

  2. Perform a test print via the printer preferences. It is suggested that both the configuration test card and graphic test card should be printed to verify printing is good from the driver.

  3. Perform test print from badge production apps to see if printing is good. If printing from an app is okay, then the ZC300 has been installed correctly on the network.
