IDP Smart 50 / 30 resin blotches / white marks

Modified on Tue, 7 Apr, 2020 at 2:33 PM

This issue in your photo is a symptom of the driver not being set correctly.

The 100% black pixels in the photo (dark hair) are printed in black resin which is jet black whilst the lighter pixels around it are printed in composite black (YMC)

There is always a tiny bit of movement on the black panel so the white underneath shows as a white edge that follows the edge of the black splodge.

The best setting to try would be Black Text.

In windows browse to Devices and printers > Right click the IDP Smart 30 / 50 and select printing preferences,

On the Paper/ Ribbon / Printing  try selecting ‘Black Text’ from the list.

Then restart your printing software and try to print another card.
