How to Adjust Printhead Heat on a Primacy

Modified on Wed, 3 Jan at 2:43 PM

Increasing/Decreasing the YMC as well as the K power settings with your Evolis Primacy printer is an important step for resolving ribbon snapping issues.

Increase/Decrease Printhead Power

  1.  and doubleOpen the Evolis Print Centre, Double-click on the Primacy printer.
  2. Click on the Printing Tab.
  3. Click on Front Side Graphical Settings.
  4. Use the slider bar to increase/decrease the Brightness and/or Contrast Heat (green box) as well as the Monochrome Resin Heat (red box). You may need to experiment a bit by printing a couple of cards to test the optimal values for these settings.

Try to change the settings in incremental/decremental step of 2 each time, and then perform a test print each time after the change. As each printer’s hardware is not the same, you may need to perform a couple or more adjustments/test prints before locating the optimal settings that make the ribbon more stable.
