Windows Checklist for installing Magicard drive

Attached checklist we talked about, mostly helps our end users.

 

The usual, procedure when we do the usual installation from the server as below;

 

On the server;

 

Download the bare driver files from here (v2.0.44);

https://techs.magicard.com/driver/magicard_bare_driver_files_2.0.44_issue1.zip

 

Extract the driver folder on the server.

In Devices & Printers;

Add a printer – local printer (not network).

Create the TCP/IP port (if it doesn’t already exist).

BTW. The printer won’t be detected.

Choose the standard options (Generic Network Card, etc.).

Takes a few seconds.

Next, Have Disk.

Browse to the driver folder.

Look for magu.inf

Then (carefully choose Magicard Rio Pro (V2) from the list.

 

Important once installed;

 

Ensure the security (permissions) for anyone using the printer has all three ticks;

 

Print

Manage Printer

Manage Documents

 

  1. Once completed you must do a “Restart”.
  2. Upon restart verify “About” shows Driver V2.0.44.
  3. Confirm you have “Printer Status”
  4. Test with V2.44 firmware.
